💌 Hello from The Nugget,
Help Me Spread The Nugget (and Win a Shout-Out!)
Every week, many of you tell me that The Nugget is the best email you open on a Wednesday, that it helps you discover new places, and feel connected with our community. I love this.

Well… this is the point where I put on my begging hat once again. 😄
I’ve already asked some of you for story ideas. I’ve asked for the occasional financial contribution (its always at the bottom of the newsletter!) to help keep things ticking along, now I’m asking for something just as valuable: Please share The Molesey Nugget with your friends, neighbours, family, school, sports and hobby groups.
Here’s the exciting bit: there are now over 800 of you reading each week. If every one of you persuaded just one other person to subscribe, we’d double overnight.
That would be incredible.
So I’ve set up a brand-new referral programme to make it a bit more fun.
Simply use your personal sharing link below. When 3 people subscribe using your link, you’ll earn a free celebration shout-out in a future edition of The Nugget. It could be a birthday, anniversary, retirement, new baby, exam success, or any other special occasion worth celebrating.
And if some of you go completely referral-mad and start bringing in even more readers… well, you may force me to invent even better prizes.
If you love The Nugget, there’s a very good chance your friends and neighbours will too.
So this is your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Share The Nugget. Spread the word. Win a shout-out. And help this little local newsletter continue to grow.
Forward this email to someone else, and they can click on the sharing link below, or copy and paste the link below into a Whats app or text message. You can even just click on it and hand them your phone to fill out their info. Simples

Jules Tries It: Reflexology in West Molesey (and… wow)
Before this week, reflexology was one of those therapies I’d heard of but never really understood. A foot treatment that somehow helps your whole body? It sounded a little mysterious.
After spending an hour with Aileen Yule, I’m a complete convert.
Aileen has been practising reflexology for 28 years. She trained at the Practitioners' School of Reflexology at St Mary's University in 1997 and is a full member of the Association of Reflexologists. Over the years, she has worked with clients of all ages, including in care homes and at the Mulberry Centre.
Reflexology is an ancient therapy, believed to have originated in Egypt. The theory is that different areas of the feet correspond to organs and systems throughout the body. By working on these reflex points, practitioners aim to release tension, encourage relaxation and support overall wellbeing.

From the moment I arrived at Aileen’s home in West Molesey, I felt relaxed. We began with a thorough consultation covering my health, medications and general wellbeing (including a very relatable chat about perimenopause and HRT).
Then I settled into an incredibly comfortable reclining chair, wrapped in a warm blanket, with a lavender eye pillow and gentle music in the background.
For the next hour, Aileen worked quietly and skilfully on my feet using a variety of techniques and soothing creams. By the end, I genuinely felt as though I was floating.
The only slightly tender spot was under my big toe, which Aileen explained relates to the neck and shoulders. As a gardener, that made perfect sense.
Aileen normally charges £50 for a one-hour treatment, but she is offering Nugget readers £10 off their first session, bringing the cost down to £40.
Treatments are for women only and take place at her home in West Molesey, with home visits possible in certain circumstances.
To book, email [email protected] or call/text 07930 328690, and mention The Nugget
If you’re feeling stressed, tired or simply in need of an hour of total relaxation, I can wholeheartedly recommend giving reflexology a try
📰 LOCAL NEWS
👠 Four Molesey Businesses Nominated for Muddy Stilettos Awards
I’m having a slight proud-parent moment this week.
No fewer than four Molesey businesses have been nominated in the 2026 Muddy Stilettos Awards — and three of them are run by women I know personally and have either worked with or supported through The Nugget.
For those unfamiliar, the Muddy Awards celebrate the very best independent lifestyle businesses across Surrey and beyond, with public voting open until 26 May.
And the Molesey nominees are:
Studio 366 — nominated in Best Wellness break
Zoe has been a supporter of The Nugget from the very beginning, and has created a wonderful wellness hub in Molesey.Smart Hands Studio — nominated in Best Children’s Business
Run by Charlotte and Natalie, this is one of Molesey’s true hidden gems — although with classes that are nearly always sold out, it’s perhaps not that hidden anymore. The Wine Room — nominated in Best Bar
Rachel and the team have created one of the most unique and welcoming spots on Bridge Road. They put on some wonderful events. If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth a visit. In Harmony Beauty Salon— nominated in Best Beauty Salon
Another fantastic local business flying the flag for Molesey.
I love seeing local businesses get recognised like this. Running an independent business takes an enormous amount of hard work, and it’s lovely to see three Molesey favourites getting the attention they deserve.
So if you’ve enjoyed a class, had a restorative treatment, or sampled a very good glass of something at The Wine Room, now’s your chance to show a little local love.
VOTE BY CLICKING HERE - 1) Find the category, as shown above 2) Submit your vote, 3) check your inbox for a verification email 4) click the confirmation link inside.
You can vote as many times as your heart desires. So crack on everyone!
Let’s see if we can bring a few Muddy Stilettos trophies back to Molesey. 👏
🛣️ Pothole Fans Rejoice… Molesham Way Gets a Makeover
Few topics unite local Facebook groups quite like potholes.
They can damage cars, rattle bicycles, and turn an otherwise peaceful drive into something resembling an off-road experience. While we’re often told that repairs are happening somewhere out there, this week the resurfacing excitement has arrived right here in Molesey.
Residents on Molesham Way have been treated to the sight of their road being completely resurfaced.
Anyone who has driven along there recently at anything above walking pace will know that this was no minor touch-up. Some of the craters had reached a size where “pothole” felt like a rather generous understatement.
One Nugget reader told me that after the top layer was removed, the road outside their house looked “a bit like a beach,” with a surprisingly attractive yellow sandy colour stretching into the distance.
So, while there may be some short-term disruption, the prospect of a beautifully smooth stretch of tarmac is now within reach.
Rollerskates at the ready The Nugget is coming through……

In June, I’m launching a new little feature for all you animal lovers out there.
Each month, I’ll feature one of your pets in The Nugget’s Pet of the Month, sponsored by our lovely friends at Molesey Veterinary Centre.
I’m on the hunt for the beloved creatures of Molesey — and no, not the cheeky fox who emptied our food waste bin all over the road this week.
If you’d like your pet to be featured, simply hit reply and send me a favourite photo, their name, and a couple of fun facts about them.
