Vine Medical Centre patients — your voice matters!
Did you know you can join the Patient Participation Group (PPG) for free? It’s a great way to share feedback, raise local health service issues, and help the surgery keep improving care in Molesey.
The PPG meets quarterly with surgery staff to discuss patient experience and community healthcare. They can’t handle individual cases, but they can push for broader improvements and raise common concerns.

🌧️ Garden Nuggets — The Gardener’s Shift
Lots of you know that gardening’s actually my real job — and now that autumn’s finally rolled in (with a good splash of rain at last!) The soil’s still warm, the air’s damp, and this is one of the best moments to get a few key jobs done before winter sets in.
If you need inspiration here’s what I’m up to —
🌿 Move any last plants — it’s still warm enough to shift perennials while they can re-root before winter, or plant anything new you buy asap.
🌸 Deadhead or don’t! You can still deadhead perennials for neatness, or leave seedheads for winter interest and bird food.
🌾 Keep mowing — grass keeps growing until it’s properly cold. If we get a dry spell, it’s your last chance to scarify, remove moss and thatch, then reseed any bare patches.
🍇 Cut back summer raspberries and mulch them with compost or manure.
🥕 Clear out annual veg and cover your patch with cardboard, compost mulch, or weed membrane — it keeps weeds down and warms the soil for spring.
🌱 Final weeding round — get those last weeds out but don’t dig over; just mulch with compost or bark chips to protect roots and retain moisture.
🌷 Plant bulbs now! It’s the perfect time. If you fancy making a bulb lasagne in a pot, this Sarah Raven guide and video shows you how.
It’s quieter work now — more about tucking the garden in than waking it up — but this is where next spring’s success really starts.
Happy digging! 🌱
