💌 Hello from The Nugget
Forget Regent Street — Molesey does Christmas bigger, brighter, and better.

Head down Eastcote Avenue, West Molesey this festive season and you’ll find a house transformed into a winter wonderland so dazzling it comes with its own scaffolding. Lights, sparkle, and festive magic. Its worth making a detour for, and it’s all for a truly special reason.
This year, the display is helping to raise money for The Skye High Foundation, supporting families after the loss of a twin, triplet, or multiples. The charity provides memory packs to neonatal and maternity units across the UK and beyond, offering comfort, recognition, and reassurance to families at an unimaginably difficult time.
So while you enjoy the twinkling lights, the laughter, and the festive cheer, you’re also helping to support families and keep memories alive. Double Christmas cheer, right here in West Molesey — and you don’t even have to brave Regent Street crowds to feel it.
The display has already raised over £1,500, and you can donate to support this incredible cause here: JustGiving – Skye High Christmas Lights

St Peter’s Wins Bid to Run Molesey Community Hub
St Peter’s West Molesey has been confirmed as the successful bidder to run the Molesey Centre, as part of Elmbridge Borough Council’s Connected Communities programme. It will see the centre developed into a new community hub focused on connection, support and wellbeing.
Working in partnership with Friends of the Molesey Centre and King’s Church, St Peter’s plans to create a welcoming, inclusive space with an affordable café, family-friendly activities, a dedicated children’s play area, and a strong programme for older residents. The aim is to tackle social isolation and offer practical support across generations.
The Connected Communities initiative is designed to shift centres into local, community-led hands, expanding what’s on offer while securing their long-term future. In nearby Weybridge, Elevate Elmbridge has also been successful, with plans for a community shop focused on sustainability, SEND support and therapy services – building on work many residents will recognise from Waste to Plate.
In Molesey, St Peter’s already runs the Community & Youth Hub on Ray Road, home to youth groups and the East Elmbridge Foodbank, and will continue that work alongside its new role at the Molesey Centre.
According to Elmbridge Mayor Cllr Steve Bax, existing services such as hairdressing, chiropody and hot meals will continue, with Friends of the Molesey Centre remaining closely involved. New ideas being explored include digital skills support, help getting back into work, and a stay-and-play space for dads and children. The council is providing £31,000 in start-up funding, plus additional support for refurbishment and local coordinators.
There’s still some legal and governance work to complete, with further announcements expected in the new year. The new Molesey Community Hub is anticipated to open after Easter 2026, and services at the centre will continue during the transition.
We’ll keep an eye on how plans develop — and how residents can get involved as the next chapter for the Molesey Centre takes shape.

🎄 Carey’s calm before the Christmas storm
Local wellbeing coach Carey Davis-Munro shares her top tips for staying balanced, energised and sane this festive season.
1. Find space to breathe
Even if it looks like you’re spending an unusually long time in the loo… Christmas can be triggering, especially when we’re around people who don’t soothe our nervous system. Step away, take 10 slow breaths in and out through the heart, and re-centre before re-joining the fun. A daily walk works wonders too — emotions are contagious, so protect your boundaries.
2. Eat to 70–80% full (Hara Hachi Bu)
Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you have to eat it. A helpful rule of thumb is stopping at around 70% full — a practice from Okinawa, one of the world’s Blue Zones for longevity. Stick to normal plate sizes, prioritise veggies, fibre and protein, and give your body proper breaks between meals. January is hard enough without punishing diets.
3. Keep your usual sleep routine (as much as you can)
Your body clock governs everything from energy to immunity, so aim for a regular bedtime (around 10pm if possible) and consistent wake-ups. Alcohol may feel relaxing, but it disrupts sleep and depletes key nutrients like B vitamins, magnesium and zinc for up to 10 days. Your body also can’t burn fat while processing alcohol — something to keep in mind during the festive season.
If Christmas feels like more storm than sparkle, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I support individuals and businesses to build healthier habits, resilience and long-term wellbeing, with a special focus on female hormone health. I’m always happy to have a conversation — you can find out more or get in touch with me at Eatnourishflourish.com or follow me on Instagram

That’s all for this week’s Nugget. There’ll be no edition next week while I take a short Christmas break — sadly not relaxing on the beaches of the Maldives, but more likely enjoying the last-minute dash down Molesey High Street, a muddy walk in Hurst Park, and wondering where all the batteries have gone.
But never fear— I’ll be back on 31st December with a special look back at The Molesey Nugget’s best bits, plus a peek at what’s coming in 2026.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s read, shared, replied, or stopped me in the street to say hello this year — your support genuinely means the world.
And a special shout-out to Dan, who got in touch last week, and came to the rescue with some much-needed technical wizardry after Gmail decided to start clipping my emails when they got too big. Hopefully he’s now armed me with the knowledge to stop this naughty elf from sabotaging the newsletter again.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a brilliant end to the year
